There’s no shortage of places to buy recycling equipment. A handful of large national companies dominate the industry — big catalogs, big marketing budgets, sales reps covering multi-state territories, and customer service lines that route you to whoever’s available.
And then there are companies like Altitude Recycling.
We’re not the biggest name in the industry. We’re a family-owned business in Aurora, Colorado, founded by Tyler Francis in 2010 — built from the ground up on equipment knowledge, honest relationships, and the belief that the recycling industry deserves better service than a 1-800 number and a ticketing system.
Here’s what that actually means for you.
Tyler Finds Equipment. Big Corporations Sell What They Have.
One of the most valuable things Altitude Recycling offers isn’t in our current inventory — it’s Tyler’s ability to find what you need when we don’t have it in stock.
Over 15+ years in this industry, Tyler has built relationships with dealers, facility operators, and equipment sources across the country. When a customer calls looking for a specific baler — specific brand, specific feed opening, specific configuration — Tyler goes to work finding it. Not filtering a database. Actually making calls, leveraging relationships, and tracking down the right machine.
Large corporations sell from their catalog. If they don’t have it, you’re out of luck or waiting on a new machine with a long lead time and a price tag to match. Tyler finds the used machine that fits your needs and your budget — and he does it faster than most people expect.
One Call Handles Everything
Here’s something most customers don’t realize until they’ve worked with us for a while: Altitude Recycling can handle your equipment and your wire and your service and your rental needs. One relationship. One phone number.
Equipment — New and used balers, shredders, conveyors, compactors. What we have in inventory, and what Tyler can source for you nationwide.
Baling Wire — Single loop bale ties, black annealed box wire, black annealed stand wire, and galvanized stand wire. Competitively priced, shipped nationwide, with local pickup available in Aurora. We supply the wire your baler runs on — and right now, we have some of the best wire pricing in the market.
Service & Repairs — Our in-house service team services every brand we sell. When your machine goes down, you call the same number you called when you bought it. We know your equipment, we stock common parts, and we don’t route you to a third party.
Rentals — Need a baler but not ready to buy? Or need a machine while yours is down for repairs? We rent vertical and horizontal balers with maintenance included — so you get the benefit of recycling revenue without the burden of ownership and repair costs.
Lease-to-Own — On a case-by-case basis, we can work out lease-to-own arrangements for customers who want a path to ownership that fits their cash flow.
A large national company typically does one or two of these things. We do all of them — and the same people you talk to about wire are the same people who service your baler and the same people who found your equipment in the first place.
We’re In Your Market. We Know Your Conditions.
Altitude Recycling is based in Aurora, Colorado. We’ve been operating in the Rocky Mountain region since 2010 — we know the haulers, the recycling programs, the facilities, and the conditions.
That last one matters more than people realize. Equipment operating at altitude performs differently than equipment at sea level. Hydraulic systems run hotter. Motors work harder. A dealer who’s never operated equipment at 5,000+ feet above sea level doesn’t think about that when they make a recommendation. We do — because it’s our backyard.
We serve Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska, Kansas, Arizona, and New Mexico for equipment, service, and rentals. Equipment sales and baling wire ship nationwide. When you call us about an operation in Denver or Cheyenne or Albuquerque, you’re talking to someone who knows those markets.
When Something Goes Wrong, You Talk to Us
This is the part that matters most.
When your baler goes down on a Tuesday morning and material is piling up, you don’t want to explain your situation to a call center rep who’s going to open a ticket and tell you someone will be in touch. You want to talk to someone who knows your machine, knows your operation, and can either walk you through a fix over the phone or get a technician dispatched fast.
That’s what you get with a local dealer.
At Altitude Recycling, when you call 720-545-5348, you’re talking to the people who run this company. We know the brands we sell. We stock parts for the machines we service. And machine-down situations get priority — because we understand what downtime costs an operation and we treat it accordingly.
We’ll Tell You the Truth Even When It Costs Us a Sale
This one might sound unusual, but it matters.
We’ve told customers their volume doesn’t justify a baler purchase yet. We’ve recommended a rental to customers who came in ready to buy. We’ve recommended a used machine to customers who had the budget for new. We’ve told customers when a repair is worth doing and when it isn’t.
A large corporation with quarterly sales targets doesn’t always have that luxury. A local business that depends on repeat customers and referrals does. Our reputation in this market is built on honest advice — and we’d rather give you the right recommendation and earn a long-term customer than make a sale that isn’t the right fit.
Family Owned Since 2010
Tyler founded Altitude Recycling in 2010. Jacquie joined and together they’ve built a company that serves recycling operations across the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.
This isn’t a franchise. It isn’t a regional office of a national chain. It’s a business built by people who care about getting it right — for the customer, for the industry, and for the long-term relationships that make a small business successful.
